THIS IS THE WENDY ARCHIVES.
"Wendy" was a comic I drew from 1999-2003 about the title character and the three other girls she lived with.

Like most of my older comics, it just isn't very good at all, and I'd rather not keep it online for all to see, but out of the kindness of my heart, I'll keep it here... until the day I become a jerk and delete it.

I'm serious, by the way. When you read this comic, you will get a lot of "LOL WACKY RANDOM" humor, some hamhanded attempts at drama, and overall, a comic I wanted people so much to take seriously even though it starred badly-drawn girls with balloon-tits. My currently updating comic is "girly". If you're not reading it, you should!

But honestly, I was a young guy when I drew this, and I still needed to learn quite a few things. I had fun, and others seemed to have a good time, so it was a pretty all right experience overall. It was amateurish, and something I really needed to move past, but an all right experience nonetheless.

TIMELINE:
June 1996: started drawing the first issue of "Bishoujo Mamono Hunter Senshi Yumi-chan", a "totally original" Wapanese magical girl parody comic which starred a shy girl named Yumi and her nerdy lesbian friend who was created and designed in seven seconds, when I drew page 2 and decided Yumi needed a nerdy lesbian friend for some reason. I named her friend after my favorite fast food restaurant at the time.
October 1998: I've since finished three of a planned 12 Yumi stories and moved on to other things. For some reason, I ended up really liking the Wendy character enough to resdesign my whole website so it revolves around her. "The Wendy Project" was set up to think of things to do with my character. I considered including her in comics, games, and artbooks, and the site itself consisted mostly of really bad suggestive art and outright porn of her.
February 1999: "The Wendy Comic" premiered on the site, and it existed mainly to give me something on the site I could update on a weekly basis, and also to give people a reason to come back to it.
January 2000: At the turn of the millenium (or one year before.... whatever), The Wendy Project gets taken down somewhat abruptly and the Wendy Comic site goes up in its place. I did this because I realized I enjoyed working on this comic, so what the hey. Shortly after, I post comic #23, the first color "infinite canvas" comic, which would be the format Wendy was best known for.
August 2000: Wendy moves to the Keenspot network. Cutewendy is created, the first few strips each taking about 15 minutes to draw. The Cutewendy/Wendy confusion officially begins.
May 2001: Wendy ends for the first time, but Cutewendy lives on! "Comic #300" is posted. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and Wendy takes her clothes off for no reason. Everyone discovers I'm crazy.
October 2001: Several months after it started, I begin work on the final pages of the "Wenprov", a rather long improvised fancomic starring the Wendy characters, written and drawn by several artists. This was done out of a need to experiment heavily with my art and writing styles, and turned out to be a good exercise in the end... but it took over my entire site, so it was a little awkward. Cutewendy was put on hold for it too.
January 2002: Wendy makes a surprise return, and picks up where it left off back in May. Cutewendy resumes as well. Wendy changes to a greyscale format, with one page posted every MWF. Opinions on Wendy were pretty mixed from this point on.
May 2002: Cutewendy ends... and properly, which, for my comics, is pretty rare. Months later it will be my first comic ever to be collected in graphic novel format. Wendy is now the only comic featured on the website, but I continue using the cutewendy.com domain, which didn't help the "Wendy/Cutewendy" confusion at all.
April 2003: Wendy part 2 ends. girly, the sequel to Cutewendy, begins. Retroactively, this ended up becoming the second and last time Wendy ended. Plans to continue the somewhat confusing story I developed from it have been cancelled, and I became a hundred times more interested in girly than I originally planned to. So ends the legacy... of the Wizard. OR IS IT?
June 2005: After a few years of wonkiness, I finally decide to make the entire archives public and add an ending. Kinda like what "Models Inc." did.

UPDATE HISTORY
12/12/07: I removed the tagboard. There's a spambot out there that's too retarded to refrain from posting even if there's no way to enter a website URL or any way to plug anything. I could have tried to do something about it, but I decided that whole thing was over anyway. Thanks for the comments, people who commented. Unless you posted something really stupid.
7/8/06: I finished all the lame-ass commentaries. Read them and ENTER THE WORLD OF JOSH LESNICK or whatever. This probably will very well will well will actually well be the last well update for the site. The Wenprov was too disturbing, and I don't think I actually want to share it with anybody... and the Yumi comic was too retarded, and I don't think I want to share that with anybody either. I think that's enough time devoted to archiving this crap already. Let's live for the future. For the moment, the future is Girly, which is just fine.

9/27/05: Commentary for 38, 39, 71, 73
9/16/05: Added a Tagboard and commentary for 34 and 72!
9/14/05: 94, Epilogue, Afterword.
9/10/05: Comic #93. Also added commentary for #70.
7/23/05: Commentary added for 21, 22, 28, and 33. For completion's sake, really... There wasn't much to say about any of those comics.
7/9/05 (5PM): Got lots of stuff to do before the con, but decided to quickly write a few commentaries for 15, 16, and 17 first. These were the three weakest comics in the "Miki's Sister" arc, so they're all kinda negative.
6/23/05 (3:30AM): Comics 61-69 have received commentary. Wowsers.
6/16/05 (2AM): Didn't feel like doing anything particularly useful, so I added new commentary to 5, 6, 8, and 12. I also uploaded #92 yesterday and forgot to include it in this update log.
6/12/05 (5AM): Changed to a simpler navigation and added the comic list to the front page. #92 is finished and will be uploaded later this week. That'll be the last update to the site for a while. The last two comics and missing commentaries will be added when I gots the time. (don't worry... the final two WILL be added the next time girly has a chapter break, at the very latest)
6/12/05 (midnight): Commentary added for 52-57, 59, and 60. That covers the comics I already wrote commentary for on dA. . Looks like 20 comics from Part 1 need commentary, along with the 30 that make up the Android Saga. I'll do my best. Like I said, there's no promises!
6/11/05 (3:30PM): Commentary added for 35, 36, 37, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, and 50. Again, a few of these were replaced with more legible versions as well.
6/11/05 (3:30AM): Commentary added for 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, and 32. I also uploaded better-quality versions of most of these.
10/1/04: The bittersweet ending.
6/10/05 (5PM): Commentary added for 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 18, 19, and 20. The process of commentary adding is tougher, to say the least. I'll start with commentary I already have sitting around, then write new commentary for all the gaps later. Needless to say, this will take quite a bit longer, can only be done when I have the spare time, and I can't even promise I'll finish it. But the archives are complete, so yay.
6/10/05 (3:30PM): ALL OF WENDY IS NOW ARCHIVED. PHP makes it so easy!
6/10/05: Comics 1-60 are now all archived. This leaves the Android Saga, which I'll upload... later. ENJOY, SUCKERS.
6/9/05: Actual ending in progress... Uploaded a new script, added comics 1, 72, 90, and 91
5/11/04: Part 1 3/4 added. Small update.
4/24/04: Part 1 2/4 added. I think the commentary on these comics is much better than the ones in the previous update.
3/29/04: Added section 1/4 of Part 1. a.k.a. "The Funny Part".
3/22/04: Added series 1, with commentary that may or may not be horribly dull.
